We are moving right along to get this exciting production under way. This may not come as a surprise to many, but producing a musical is a pretty big undertaking. However, we're beginning to get all of our ducks in a row so that we can move forward. The crowdfunding has come to an end, and we are so incredibly grateful and appreciative of all of the people who have contributed to this series. It wouldn't be at all possible without the constant support of the beautiful people in our lives.
All of the music has been handed in by the arrangers, and we are beginning to teach, learn, and perfect the vocals. Shannon (Dr. Fillasho) has taken on the role of Musical Director, and will be meeting with the actors to get the possible sound for each song. Meetings with the sound mixer, Paul, have been set up so that we can get into the studio and have as much fun, as well as be as efficient, as we can. Whitney and I began playing around with the choreography for the Tango yesterday so that she can solidify a dance and teach it. It's such a crazy/awesome/exciting thing to be learning a dance to a song you wrote.
Working on a project of this stature is exciting in so many ways, but what I really love is all of the collaboration and all of the talents/skills that are required to put something like this together. The thing about theatre and/or film, is that it is never one person doing anything; it is everyone. To make everything run smoothly and turn out beautifully, you have to have a team that works well together, that trusts each other, and has the same vision in mind. I am so thankful/lucky for the people that are involved in "In Retrospect." We all believe in the art, the creativity, and the excitement within this project. I cannot wait to share so much of this with you! Thank you for coming along for the ride!
